Celebration of the 48^th Foundation Anniversary
of Jesus Good Shepherd School, Imus City, Philippines

Shepherdines, faculty and staff, administrators, alumni and parents, united as one family, celebrated the 48^th Founding Anniversary of JGSS from February 7-9, 2013 through meaningful activities in-line with the theme “Remembering with Gratitude”. Time line banners from 1965 to the present showing the historical background of the school were displayed at the ground floor of the grade school building.

Father Ian Paul Esmig, SSP, officiated the Thanksgiving Mass on the first day with the “Karakol” to start the celebration . It was followed by an impressive field demonstration of the Grade School pupils and High School students highlighting the significant dance craze and songs of the 1960’s to 1990’s. It made the audience reminisce their past experiences during those years.

The second days’ main event was the Palarong Pinoy for the graders and their families. This symbolized the Filipino culture which made the shepherdines learn, appreciate and enjoy the traditional games of the Filipinos. The Supreme Student Government of the High School Department hosted the Battle of the Band. Indeed, it was a display of skills and talents in playing musical instruments and singing. In the afternoon, the dance concert was held participated by the students and teachers.

The exhibition of the Drum and Lyre initiated the third day celebration. Parents were elated with the performance of their children. Faculty and parents demonstrated sportsmanship in the Fun Games. Delighted faces were seen in the audience and the participants. The Alumni Gathering in the afternoon was held with a cluster planning and selection of batch representative in preparation for the Golden Jubilee in 2015. Through Time…. a musical variety show in the evening ended the third day of the celebration.

The JGSS 48^th Foundation Anniversary was a success. The loud cheers and clapping of parents and visitors equated the tiring efforts of the teachers in the Field Demonstration. Spectators also enjoyed watching the Palarong Pinoy. Shepherdines from Kinder to 4th Year learned to be patient, hardworking and obedient. Undoubtedly, positive traits of pupils and students would pave the way to a meaningful celebration of the Jubilee Year in 2015.
