The fourth Sunday of Easter, commonly referred to as Good Shepherd Sunday, is an annual appointment for the Pastorelle Sisters of Thomastown and Bundoora and their cooperators, friends and members of the Pauline Family.
On Sunday afternoon 26th April 2015 more than fifty people, including two Sister Disciples of the Divine Master, filled our chapel at Bundoora, to celebrate the feast of Jesus Good Shepherd and to mark the 52nd World Day of Prayer for Vocations.
In the introduction Sr Mary warmly welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming and for our shared faith in the Good Shepherd who loves us, knows each of us by name and gave his life for us. She also remembered some of our Friends who have shared our life and ministry over many years and who have recently died. Among them were Mary Gorman, Rob and Maureen Bentley and Joy Goble.

Sr Nelia led the Eucharistic Hour using the psalms and chapter 10 of John’s Gospel as the focus of our reflection. In our prayers of intercession we asked the Lord of the harvest to send good labourers into his harvest!
At the end of the prayer, Sr Doreen thanked everyone for coming and graciously affirmed the love and support we receive from friends such as the ones who were present, and family, and how these encourage and sustain us in our resolve to be faithful to our vocation.

We then moved to the dining room where we shared a delicious afternoon tea during which people had the opportunity of chatting and getting to know people they had not met before.

We will remember this day as another day of grace and communion with Jesus Good Shepherd and many of our good cooperators and friends.

Mary La Bruna, sjbp
