The Philippine-Australia-Saipan-Taiwan Province was truly visited profoundly by the Lord through the Canonical Visit of our Superior General, Sr. Marta Finotelli, and the General Councillors: Sr. Inacia dos Santos and Sr. Marisa Loser and also for the presence of the General Secretary, Sr. Purisima Tanedo for the translation work.
The Sisters of the whole Province joyfully awaited the arrival of these four Sisters on September 26, 2015 and without wasting any time, immediately the next day was their initial meeting with the Provincial Council. The official welcome happened at Jesus Good Shepherd School on September 28 commencing with the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Most Rev. Reynaldo G. Evangelista, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Imus followed by the JGSS students’ cultural presentation.
The well prepared scheda using the Way the Truth and the Life Method was a very good material during the visits to the communities of Srs. Marta and Arsenia in Australia and in Taiwan, and of Sr. Inacia and Sr. Marisa in all communities of the Philippines and Saipan. The Lectio Divina for the encounters with the Provincial Council, animators and formators was very effective. Sr. Marta also allotted time to meet the young formands which was indeed a great encouragement for all of them. The hospitality and warm welcome of the Sisters in all the communities are truly commendable and very much appreciated.
One of the highlights of this Canonical Visit was the Spiritual Exercises facilitated by Sr. Marta with Sr. Purisima as translator at SSpS Retreat House, Tagaytay. Continuing the journey of the whole Congregation through the Objective formulated in our 8th General Chapter, she deepened the focus of the second Triennium which is on “communion” and the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. We were definitely enriched and challenged by all the reflections imparted to us. We were glad for the presence of our Sisters from Saipan, and from Taiwan, who joined us in the Spiritual Exercises, the Sisters of Australia had it when Sr. Marta was there for the Canonical Visit.
The concluding encounter of the General Council and the Provincial Council gave so much clarity for the future journey of the Philippine Province through the various indications and suggestions presented by Sr. Marta. The global evaluation done has proven that in our fraternity and communion, even language will never be a barrier to comprehend situations and realities as well as in understanding each person.
Thanks be to God for this grace-filled moments in the history of our Province and our deepest gratitude to our dear Sr. Marta, Sr. Inacia, Sr. Marisa and to Sr. Puri who painstakingly translated the materials and the sessions for us. Our hearts will treasure the experience of communion we had with them. We are also grateful for all those who have journeyed with us during the Canonical Visit through their sacrifices and prayers.
Sr. Revelina B. Santiago, for the Provincial Council

We still have the memories in our hearts that revitalizes our
spirits to experience communion in healing our relationships with the help of our Eucharistic Shepherd. Thank you so much dear sisters....your joyful presence is a proof that language is not a barrier as to how God wants to convey His message.
