San Fernando La Union Community celebrates 30 years of Pastoral presence in the Diocese

We are truly blessed to be living in this Jubilee!  The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy is a grace-filled moment for us Pastorelle Sisters here in the Diocese of San Fernando, La Union because it is in God’s abounding mercy and graces that we are celebrating our 30^th year of pastoral presence in the Diocese.

The day’s celebration started with a Eucharistic Adoration remembering in prayer and in gratitude the humble beginning of our community on June 7, 1986 which started from the time of the late Most Rev. Salvador Lazo who accepted us in the Diocese.  Incidentally, the first Sisters who started the community were: Sr. Maria Estela Altea, Sr. Cynthia Angalot and Angelita Marave who later left the Congregation.  

The celebration of the Holy Eucharist followed at 3:00 pm was presided over by Fr. Dominador Ramos, SVD and attended by friends, benefactors and some of our prospective members of the Friends of Jesus Good Shepherd .

In the Eucharist we recalled with joy and thanksgiving the 30 fruitful and meaningful years of pastoral collaboration with the bishops, clergy, religious and lay people who journeyed with us keeping the faith alive in various pastoral ministries we are engaged in, inspiring and transforming the heart of the people after the compassionate heart of Jesus Good Shepherd. A simple “merienda cena” was served which delighted every one present.

This momentous event is a concrete manifestation of God’s fidelity to us, in the history of our Congregation.
